I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand those are absolutely valid points, but phrases like “you should stop” or “never use” really spoil what otherwise would be a great article.

As you pointed out, you cannot use function declarations or generic props with React.FunctionComponent which kind of solves a problem by itself, so there is no real anti-pattern isn’t it? Usage in other cases is harmless as far as I can see
